Online platform to ‘give a voice’ to communities in the housing development process

An online platform which provides consumer insights related to the development of the public realm launched yesterday (December 4).

MindFolio, an analytics and consultancy company for global real estate markets has created the online platform LociLab, which aims to engage users in the early stages of planning developments.

It does this through daily polls, topical discussion on message boards and integrated surveys via the online platform which it says can provide a better understanding of consumer demographics.

The purpose of this platform is to provide public sector clients with detailed insights into the needs, aspirations and challenges of their local community which can be used to inform and shape the development.

MindFolio has previously influenced urban development and community projects, including the regeneration of Birmingham City Centre and the redevelopment vision for Westgate Oxford.

Working with local authorities, councils, developers and landowners, MindFolio works to provide data intelligence to achieve optimum planning outcomes, ensuring that public developments are efficient and future-proofed.

Karl Kalcher, managing director of MindFolio commented: ‘We are delighted to announce the launch of LociLab, a community platform, hosted digitally, which responds to the pressing need for increased data-centric public consultation throughout the planning process.’

‘The platform ‘gives voice’ to the local community, whilst providing profound insights to local government commissioners.’

‘Our aim is to help our public sector clients to build environments that stimulate and shape strong communities and have at their heart a profound sense of place and purpose.’
